Beneath the Branches
England / Ashurst, West Sussex
Full description
A lovingly handcrafted dog-friendly treehouse-for-two, bespoke-designed around a whispering tree canopy in a private and peaceful West Sussex farm meadow.
Exquisitely nestled in its own private meadow on Furzefield Farm, and surrounded by joyous birdsong, a stay Beneath the Branches will make you feel blissfully at one with nature.
The treehouse has been beautifully handcrafted around the surrounding mature oak trees, with huge, scenery-showcasing windows and French doors that mean even when it's raining, you can relax and enjoy wide green West Sussex views from the sofa.
When it isn't raining, you can savour a drink out on the furnished veranda, which overlooks a shimmering pond... what a way to welcome in that glorious sunset!
Perfect for a romantic getaway, there's a downy kingsize bed that's perfect for long, lazy lie-ins. Though if you've brought your four-legged friend along, you may find yourselves getting up early, for rambling sunrise walks along the many footpaths and bridleways that surround the treehouse.
Facilities-wise, everything you'll need has been gainfully provided, including a well-equipped kitchen (you'll be left some goodies to help get your stay off to a delicious start, too), and a TV for cosy evenings in.
Oh, and there's also a gorgeous bathroom, with a roll-top bathtub that you'll immediately want to fill up with indulgent bubbles! For the ultimate in unique relaxation, an outdoor bath is located on the lower deck - the perfect spot to feel at one with nature and enjoy the stunning setting.
As if all that wasn't quite enough, you'll also have exclusive use of the surrounding one-acre meadow to do whatever you choose. You could ease into the day with some fresh-air yoga, tuck into a hearty picnic, or let the dog run wild and free, as you relax with that good book you never find time for at home.
If you prefer exploring, you could always take one of those footpaths and see where it leads... after you've said a cheery hello to the horses in the neighbouring field!
You'll find a charming 16th century pub, The Fountain Inn, within walking distance. Welcoming and dog-friendly, you can relax al fresco and admire the landscaped gardens, or retreat inside and enjoy a hot toddy by the roaring fireplace.
Further afield, Steyning is a picture-book country town with cobbled streets and independent shops to weave through (not to mention plenty of cafés serving tempting cakes!)
The windswept coast is a mere ten miles away, so if you're in the mood for a day at the beach then Shoreham-by-Sea won't disappoint. Stroll along the wide sandy beach, to work up your appetite for another soothing sunset supper back at your beautiful treehouse later on.
