Full description
A lovingly handcrafted treehouse and luxurious meadow cabin for romantic couples, dog-friendly and blissfully secluded in a private and peaceful West Sussex farm meadow.

Comprising a handcrafted treehouse and a luxurious cabin, both privately nestled in an idyllic meadow on Furzefield Farm, a stay Beneath the Branches will make you feel blissfully at one with nature.

The treehouse has been beautifully handcrafted around the surrounding mature oak trees, with huge, scenery-showcasing windows and French doors that mean even when it's raining, you can relax and enjoy wide green West Sussex views from the sofa.

When it isn't raining, you can savour a drink out on the furnished veranda, which overlooks a shimmering pond... what a way to welcome in that glorious sunset!

Oh, and there's also a gorgeous bathroom, with a roll-top bathtub that you'll immediately want to fill up with indulgent bubbles! For the ultimate in unique relaxation, an outdoor bath is located on the lower deck - the perfect spot to feel at one with nature and enjoy the stunning setting.

You'll discover the Meadow Cabin delightfully tucked away under ancient oak. Relax in the cosy lounge, enjoying the warmth of the bio-fuel burner, or indulge in a bubble-soak in the roll-top bath-with-a-view... though there's also an outdoor bath under the oak tree, if you really want to get up close and personal with nature! Why not savour a sizzling sunset supper on the barbecue first?

There's also a gorgeous kingsize bed with a skylight directly above, ideal for a spot of stargazing before that sound, silent night's sleep.

Whichever retreat you choose, you'll find everything you could need has been gainfully provided, including a well-equipped kitchen (you'll be left some goodies to help get your stay off to a delicious start, too), and a TV for cosy evenings in.

You'll have exclusive use of the surrounding one-acre meadow to do whatever you're in the mood for. You could ease into the day with some fresh-air yoga, tuck into a hearty picnic, or let the dog run wild and free, as you relax with that good book you never find time for at home.

You may even find yourselves getting up early, for rambling, dog-accompanied sunrise walks along the many footpaths and bridleways that surround the treehouse. Take one and see where it leads... after you've said a cheery hello to the horses in the neighbouring field!

You'll find a charming 16th century pub, The Fountain Inn, within walking distance. Welcoming and dog-friendly, you can relax al fresco and admire the landscaped gardens, or retreat inside and enjoy a hot toddy by the roaring fireplace.

Further afield, Steyning is a picture-book country town with cobbled streets and independent shops to weave through (not to mention plenty of cafés serving tempting cakes!)

The windswept coast is a mere ten miles away, so if you're in the mood for a day at the beach then Shoreham-by-Sea won't disappoint. Stroll along the wide sandy beach, to work up your appetite for another soothing sunset supper back at your beautiful retreat later on.

Tried and tested

"Fabulous location, beautifully bespoke made tree house - joy for the eye and soul. Very tidy, clean and well furnished place - has exactly all you need to fully enjoy the space inside and outside. Lots of personal touches and amazingly thoughtful about dogs. Thank you for all you have done Imogen - we will definitely recommend your place and visit again!"

"Beneath the Branches is an enchanting spot. In the corner of its own private meadow and in the quiet of the countryside. It is built under three old oak trees and has the feeling of a luxurious tree house although it is actually a sustainable and well equipped cabin. The balcony is restful, peaceful spot, with views across the fields and natural shade from the trees. The accommodation is comfortable and just right for two people (plus a dog, in our case!) Several footpaths and bridleways pass close by and there is good walking from the front door. The cabin is at the edge of Furzefield Farm and the hosts are on-hand when help is required, but in no way obtrusive. If fact, it's a very private spot. Our batteries have been metaphorically and literally recharged during our stay. (There is an on-site car changer as well!)"

"What an absolute gem this place is. So thoughtfully built and maintained in a rustic but modern way. I honestly had the best nights sleep there every single night. It's so quiet and being able to sit out at night, logs on the brazier, with the friendly sheep in their field, quietly baaing and gazing at the stars, is delightful. I was there 10 days whilst working in the area and Imogen could not have been more helpful and accommodating. I fully intend to go back at some point. 10/10"
