A lovingly handcrafted haven filled with creative delights, beautifully nestled in a meadow on the Welsh borders.

Bee's Bower, privately set on a Herefordshire meadow, is a completely unique, handcrafted home that's ideal for two people (and two dogs) in need of a truly natureful getaway.

Owners Tim and Bryony lived in Botswana for many years, and on their return felt inspired to build imaginative homes that connect people with their surroundings. Bee's Bower, created with help from master craftsman Zane Dutton-Thompson, does exactly that.

A genuine escape from hectic city life, your spirits will rise as you make your way through the stunning meadow towards your new holiday home. ‘Bower' is an Old English word that means "a leafy shelter", and that's exactly what you'll find here.

An enchanting A-frame wood-and-canvas structure situated at the top of a copse, you can enjoy magical valley views that take in whispering treetops and a shimmering stream. Fresh woodland scents and birdsong will capture your senses from the moment you arrive, while the beauty of your internal surroundings is sure to blow you away.

There is so much to feast your eyes upon here, with exquisite attention to detail and a wealth of imaginative ideas in every direction.

At the centre of the home is a large tree stump, which supports a delightfully hand-carved spiral staircase. Many accessories, including lights, lamps, shelves and handles, are delicately handmade, while the cosy living area features two comfy armchairs that face a crackling woodburner - a real treat on chillier evenings.

There are countless more places to relax. A sumptuous beaten copper bath awaits you after long windswept rambles, with views out to the countryside...what bliss! A true homage to creativity, even the bath taps have been ingeniously handmade. The generous balcony is also home to a hammock, ideal for afternoon naps and book reading (that is, when you're not gazing out at those wonderful views).

After a lazy supper over the firepit, take that spiral staircase up to the bedroom, equipped with a downy bed dressed in bamboo linen, and a balcony that looks out across the valley. Homely touches including a supply of hot water bottles, plus a handmade wardrobe and shelf, give a deliciously cosy feel.

Additional facilities include a fully equipped kitchen with stained-glass window, and a bathroom that features a piping hot shower and a compost toilet.

It almost goes without saying that this is amazing walking country, and you can spend your days exploring some of the country's best routes. The Offa's Dyke Path and the Brecon Beacons are just two miles away, and the area is dotted with pretty towns and villages. There's a quirky local pub within walking distance too.

If you're feeling stressed out by life and a bland five-star hotel experience just isn't for you, come and get delightfully back to nature at Bee's Bower. Your soul will thank you for it.

Things to note
