Beaconside Cabins
England / Bideford, Devon
Full description
A sumptuous collection of individually styled glamping havens, magically secluded amongst ancient fairytale woodland on a 25-acre North Devon estate.
Set amongst 25 tranquil acres of picture-perfect countryside, Beaconside is a magnificent country estate nestled on the edge of the historic town of Bideford.
Just five minutes from the sweeping North Devon coast, there's plenty of scope to explore far and wide... if you can tear yourselves away from the luxurious confines of the estate, that is!
Not only can you relax in outdoor hot tubs, or swim languorous lengths in heated indoor and outdoor swimming pools, but your idyllic glamping accommodation will be second to none.
Nestled amongst the estate's private, ancient Annery woodlands - featured in the classic children's story Tarka the Otter, no less - are nine elegant, fully self-contained cabins.
Each cabin has been carefully designed and individually styled, so there's one to suit every holiday taste, from Scandi to boutique. Each one also boasts its own whimsical Tarka-inspired name that's sure to bring on a delighted grin... who wouldn't want to stay in a cabin named Pollywiggle, Old Nog, or Dimity?
Even the journey to your chosen cabin will feel soothingly magical, as you make your way along the sloping, festoon-lit pathways, under a canopy of whispering trees.
Once inside, you'll be greeted by a downy kingsize bed (there's also a sofa bed chair that can accommodate an extra guest if needed), with a sleek en-suite shower room for that morning freshen-up.
Prepare a tasty breakfast in the kitchen - gainfully equipped with a combi oven, two hot plates, and a fridge - and then enjoy the fruits of your culinary labour at the stylish bistro table, in or out of doors!
You'll need the fuel, because there's plenty for you to see and do in the local area, including the wide, golden sandy beach at Westward Ho! where you can sunbathe or surf to your hearts' content.
And don't worry if you forget to bring your bikes, as you can hire them to be delivered straight to your cabin.
But if all that sounds a little too energetic, you could always while away some time weaving in and out of the shops at Bideford, or visiting one of the many National Trust properties you'll discover nearby.
And of course, there's your private firepit to relax around later, after you've greeted that glorious sunset in the al fresco hot tub - a perfect way to end yet another perfect day!
Things to note
Minimum 3-night stay. Please note that access to the cabins is gained via sloping terrain, which is not suitable for wheelchairs.
