34 Monmouth Beach
England / Lyme Regis, Dorset
Wake up right next to the sea in a charming and contemporary beachfront chalet, stunningly situated in the ‘Pearl of Dorset'.
If you're looking for an energising seaside escape, 34 Monmouth Beach couldn't be more ideally located... in the coastal town of Lyme Regis, affectionately known as the ‘Pearl of Dorset' and whose romantic harbour wall, The Cobb, has featured in classic English literature.
As its name suggests, this stylish wooden chalet is discovered right on beautiful Monmouth beach. What better way to wake up than with fresh views of the sun rising over the sparkling sea?
Exquisitely finished, 34 Monmouth Beach is a perfect romantic hideaway for two, with extra room if you decide you'd like to bring the kids along. Light, bright and tastefully decorated throughout, step inside and find a delightful living space with a comfy futon sofa-bed to snuggle up on. Gentle lighting by evening makes for a delightfully dreamy setting.
A boutique and well-equipped kitchen area is the ideal setting for whipping up seaside snacks, while an elegant shower room, complete with underfloor heating, is ideal for freshening up after another lazy day on the beach.
The chalet features a cosy mezzanine level that can double as additional sleeping space for children over 6 (though please note that the mezzanine level is not standing height).
Of course, the spacious wooden decking area is the real pearl in the oyster! Sit outside with a glass of bubbles and a good book, or chat to your heart's content over morning coffee as you surround yourselves with the very best that seaside living has to offer. Fresh salty air, cawing seagulls and the soothing sound of the waves will have you feeling inspired and relaxed from the moment you arrive, leaving you perfectly ready to enjoy the rest of your beachfront break.
You won't have to look far to discover things to do in the local area, with an array of books and maps in the chalet that detail the very best walks for you to explore. Lyme Regis is an area known for the abundant fossils to be found in its Heritage Coast cliffs and beaches, while the ancient Cobb is a place to visit and be creatively inspired by its inclusion in Jane Austen's ‘Persuasion' and John Fowles' famous ‘French Lieutenant's Woman'.
Monmouth Beach itself is a serene place that's full of character - why not see if you can spot any seals or dolphins from the beach, or try a spot of rock pooling when the tide is low?
The chalet is close to plenty of local restaurants and pubs, if you feel like venturing slightly further afield. A traditional fish and chip supper from the Lyme Fish Bar is a seaside holiday treat that simply can't be bettered!
Slightly further from Lyme itself, why not pay a visit to the River Cottage Canteen in Axminster for a real culinary treat? Nearby Bridport is ideal for shopping, with a tempting selection of independent vintage shops, galleries and markets.
With a stay at 34 Monmouth Beach, you'll soon discover that the traditional seaside holiday has been given a stylish and culturally-rich upgrade, so why not come and experience all the romantic luxury it has to offer for yourselves?
