The ultimate in fun sleepovers, Stable Stays offers a unique opportunity for you to sleep in a cosy, self-catering stable, with a beautiful Friesian horse or a cute Shetland pony right by your side!

Your soothing location is a historic, family-run farm in the Lake District National Park – the ancient and picturesque village of Cartmel, to be exact – which is home to a Grade II listed farmhouse, and 17 much-loved Friesian horses.

So, what exactly can you expect from your one-of-a-kind luxury Stable Stay?

Well, for starters you’ll be happy to know that the hay bed is strictly for your horse! You’ll find your fairy-lit stable equipped with luxury Egyptian cotton comfy double and single bunk bed, and there’s a mini kitchen and dining table where you can cook your own meal or book a take-away from the local 2 Michelin star restaurant L’Enclume!

You’ll even have your own en-suite wet room, complete with a refreshing shower and a portable eco-loo.

Meanwhile, your equine companion is just next door… in a spacious, water-equipped stable with a see-through room divider, that means you’ll be able to keep each-other company for your entire stay.

Simply clamber to the top bunk for a stroke or a chat, or to feed your new friend some tasty treats.

What the guests of Stable Stays say

“Stable Stays is one of the most amazing experiences you will ever come across – I would highly recommend spending a night here. The accommodation is perfect to enjoy your stay and has everything you will need while you are there. Tracey and her team are always around if you need them which was very comforting but Tracey even goes that one step further and says you can ring or message her anytime through the night which comforts you even more. It was such an incredible experience we will definitely be going back thank you!”

“Thank you to Tracey for giving us the opportunity to have such an unforgettable experience of spending a night with the absolutely stunning Hannes. The accommodation for the humans is so cosy and set up perfectly to maximise interaction with your stable mate. Hannes was a joy to spend time with. He made us chuckle with his cheeky ways and it was such an honour to share his space with him. I recommend this experience to any horse lover, you will have a wonderful time.”

“I recently spent a wonderful night in Stable Stays with my best friend Susannah. Our Stable mate was a handsome well behaved Friesian Gelding. We couldn’t have asked for a better experience. The accommodation was spotlessly clean and everything we needed was provided, towels, tea, coffee, milk and toiletries. The weather was in our favour so we walked into Cartmel where we had a superb pre booked meal at the Cavendish Arms. We returned to our Stable Stay about 9pm and gave our Stable mate a groom and a pamper, he was inquisitive but not intrusive and we had a lot of laughs. Our hosts were on hand if we needed them but to be honest they have thought of everything and left us to enjoy what was a truly magical experience. I highly recommended Stable Stays, there is nothing quite like it.”
