Retro-inspired boutique self-catering accommodation in a studio annex of Georgian townhouse.

The Studio at Lynchetts offers luxury self-catering accommodation for two in a self-contained annex of a Georgian townhouse, in the heart of Bradford-on-Avon.  Beautifully decorated with mid-century furniture and Scandinavian-inspired décor, a real treat awaits guests in this stylishly simple, homely studio apartment.

Most likely the former kitchen of this 1700s building (now a B&B), the Studio retains many of its historical features - including wooden beams, a large fireplace and parquet flooring in the shower room - blended to perfection with modern comforts and sensational vintage furniture.  From the retro wallpaper to the framed Scandi-graphic prints, everything works together to create a unique, boutique feel while also making guests feel completely comfortable in this ‘home-from-home'.

Thoughtfully configured to offer everything a couple needs for their stay in one cosy space, the Studio's simple furnishings and light, airy décor create space throughout.  The living area, complete with a leather sofa, is perfect for whiling away the evenings curled up in front of the log burner, perhaps with a DVD or just your own long conversations for entertainment.  And when it comes to cooking, self-catering is made easy thanks to the fully equipped kitchenette, with ceramic hob and combination oven/microwave. As an extra treat, visitors are welcomed with fresh juice, cookies, butter and homemade preserves, as well as tea & coffee.

You'll also enjoy the highlight of poring through the selection of vinyl records, playing these on the original record player, and relaxing back in the vintage armchair while admiring the kitsch curios and fantastic mid-century furnishings in this utterly unique space.

At bedtime, prepare yourself for the sweetest of dreams in the super comfortable king-size bed; its luxurious mattress, soft duvet and cosy vintage Welsh blanket (which inspired the colour scheme for the whole studio) will keep you snug, comfy and warm all night long. If you do manage to tear yourself away in the morning, luxuriate in the travertine-tiled rainfall shower before drying yourself off with a warm, fluffy towel - the perfect start to any day!

In sunny weather, guests can enjoy the Studio's private courtyard, with its own table and chairs and BBQ.  You are also free to explore the extensive gardens of the main house - an oasis of flowers, orchards, fruit and vegetables, and beautiful views of Bradford-on-Avon.

The town itself, dating back to Roman times, is a truly stunning sight; set in the magnificent Avon valley, Bradford-on-Avon is brimming with character, with architecture also dating from Saxon, Norman, Georgian and Victorian times.  Sample the delights of the local delicatessens, shop for items in the independent boutiques, and relax back for coffee or something stronger in one of the cafés or bars.  There are also a range of good pubs and restaurants if you fancy a night off from self-catering!

As a former hub of the woollen industry, Bradford-on Avon is easily accessible by rail, road and canal, and is well connected with other towns and cities in the area.  For a trip further afield, glorious Bath with its many shops, museums, restaurants and the famous Thermae Bath Spa is only fifteen minutes away by train, while walkers and cyclists should pack their gear for exploring the beautiful countryside surrounding the town.

Whether you're visiting the area for a short stay or a slightly longer break from the humdrum of life, The Studio at Lynchetts really is the ideal place to lay your head - and one you'll want to return to again and again!

Things to note

The Studio usually sleeps two but an infant may also be accommodated on request.

Tried and tested

"What a lovely place to spend a weekend. We had a fabulously relaxed time in front of the fire, listening to records and reading. Thank you so much for kitting out this place in such a lovely way. Hope to see you again soon!"
Kathy & Garth

"Thank you Amy for providing such a lovely place for a birthday getaway. All the local pubs and restaurants we tried were fantastic and it was so easy to get to Bath for the day. We really appreciated all the little extras like homemade jam and cookies. Looking forward to snuggling up by the fire again this evening!"
Alice & Tommy, Buckinghamshire

"We had a wonderful time celebrating our 10th wedding anniversary and escaping our three boys! The Studio has provided us with much needed rest, a lovely comfortable bed, fab record collection, BBC Radio 6 on constant, amazing hot shower and we love the Scandi décor - you've done an amazing job. Thanks again, we'll be recommending the Studio to friends and family."
