A heritage-soaked apartment, filled with captivating detail and contemporary mod cons, positioned in the heart of Plymouth's historic Barbican.
  • Sleeps: 5
  • Bedrooms: 3
  • Bathroom: 1
  • Minimum stay: 2 nights

Characterised by its charming cobbled streets – the largest concentration of cobbled streets in Britain – The Barbican is strewn with ancient listed buildings, a sparkling waterfront, and the fascinating architectural remains of times gone by.

It’s in the heart of this intriguing Plymouth time capsule, that you’ll discover The Catacombs. A stoic survivor of World War Two bombings, the historic open plan apartment has been expertly restored for the 21st century, with a mesmerising blend of historic detail and modern fixtures.

Sleeping up to five guests and one lucky pet, you can relax and dine in the exquisite open plan living space, bathed in light from huge windows and glass doors. Here, vibrant tapestry chairs and gently arched ceilings meet sleek mod cons, including mood lighting and underfloor heating, to set the perfect tone for a cosy evening in.

(Not forgetting the Alexa-controlled Smart home technology, huge Smart TV, and integrated Sonos surround-sound!)

Just in case you need to catch up on work, there’s even an office on hand, equipped with iMac, printer and scanner, while the appliance-packed kitchen will help you whip up family-sized feasts.

Oh, and there’s even an honesty wine store, to fuel those delightfully lazy, chatty evenings with your loved ones!

Head up to the ground floor to discover three comfy bedrooms; two kingsize rooms that each feature a large Smart TV (one also boasts an en-suite shower room), and a charming single room.

Scenic Plymouth Hoe is close by, filled with fascinating icons such as Smeaton’s Tower Lighthouse, and the imposing Royal Citadel, which served for many years as England’s most important maritime defence.

Don’t forget to pay a visit to the statue of local hero Sir Francis Drake, too – which you’ll find by the green on which he finished his game of bowls, just before heading out to defeat the Spanish Armada in 1588.
