The Radio Tower holds more than a few enthralling stories within its iconic structure.  Originally built as an observation tower by German occupying forces during the Second World War, its style is completely unique to the Channel Islands.  In peacetime, the tower provides fascinating and modern accommodation for up to 6 people to enjoy a truly unique, blissfully secluded coastal break.

Located on a bracing cliff top that overlooks the renowned Corbière Lighthouse, the extraordinary tower comprises six floors, with a concrete staircase that winds right through its heart, and an additional wooden staircase that leads right to the top.  You’ll find plenty of original features as you explore inside, including steel doors and observation slots, with the tower’s tasteful restoration adding plenty of comfortable and contemporary designer style.

Ascend the stairs and discover three identically cosy double bedrooms on the second to fourth floors, each perfectly customised with furniture that blends with the curved walls, and each featuring an adjacent shower room and toilet, with an additional toilet on the fifth floor.

Prepare and enjoy meals with a view, with a well-equipped kitchen that boasts custom worktops, modern fittings and up-to-the-minute appliances.  Underfloor heating throughout will keep everybody cosy, even as the waves crash romantically against the shore below in colder weather!

As you might imagine, it’s the scenic lounge area and observation deck – once the setting for so much drama and activity – that’s the glittering jewel in the Radio Tower’s crown…so don’t forget to pack your binoculars!   With so very much to see all around you, including birds, boats and even the occasional dolphin, you won’t want to miss out on any of the detail.

Overlooking the windswept bay of St. Ouen along Jersey’s west coast, you’ll also be able to view the famous Corbière Lighthouse in all its glory.  Built in 1873, the Lighthouse has become a true local landmark, being one of the most photographed buildings in Jersey, and the very first you’ll see when arriving to Jersey by ferry from the English south coast.

If at any point you decide to tear yourselves away from the comfort of the tower and explore the local area, you won’t be disappointed.  Beautiful beaches, including plenty of bars and restaurants, are accessible just a short walk away – and with Jersey so well-known for its watersports, it would be a shame not to pack your surfboard and wetsuit along with your walking boots!
