This Grade II listed former church is rich in art, light and tranquility, perfect for a moon-gazing group escape to Northumberland.

Moon House was originally built back in 1842, as a church and Sunday school serving the people of Rothbury, a charming town with the National Trust's Cragside House right on the doorstep.

These days, you'll find the exquisitely renovated Moon House sleeps up to five people in three cosy bedrooms - ideal for grown-up group breaks in the heart of rural, dark sky Northumberland.

The interiors are truly stunning, featuring high ceilings and a gorgeously spacious open-plan living area that floods with natural sunlight (the space was once an art gallery before being transformed into a holiday home, and it's easy to see why).

The kitchen is equipped with a high-end French-style range, and you can congregate in the garden for al-fresco feasts if you don't feel like staying inside.

The large glass balcony area at first-floor level is ideal for morning coffee and afternoon cocktails, and it's also the setting for a galleried kingsize ensuite bedroom with superlative views.  Two more bedrooms await on the ground floor, both beautifully decorated.

If you can tear yourselves away, there's plenty to explore in the surrounding area, with an array of tea rooms, shops and pubs within minutes of strolling.
