AirShip 2
Scotland / Drimnin, The Highlands
Full description
View the Scottish Highlands at their most breathtaking, from the romantic comfort of a deliciously secluded, architect-designed pod.
AirShip 2 was designed by the renowned firm of architects, Roderick James - whose philosophy is to create versatile living spaces with more than a touch of fun and informality!
So you can rest assured that you won't be greeted by a traditional, square-roomed building, but a contemporary, out-of-this-world creation that'll make your hearts soar as soon as you arrive.
Blissfully secluded on a four-acre site in Drimnin, Scotland, AirShip 2 is a gleaming aluminium pod-for-two; light-filled, cosily furnished, and fully insulated for the ultimate in scenic escapes.
Naturally, you'll be surrounded by the incredible rural backdrop that typifies the Highlands - and with dogs permitted to stay too, your best four-legged friend needn't miss out on all that incredible open space! The glorious vista stretches across the Sound of Mull towards Tobermory, before leading your gaze seawards, to the windswept Ardnamurchan Point.
You can cast your eyes over this visual feast right from the comfort of your pod, with its perfectly-positioned dragonfly windows. In fact, you might even welcome the idea of a storm brewing overhead, so you can fire up the wood-burner and snuggle under tartan blankets as you watch the wild weather rage outside.
Inside, you can expect simple, industrial-style fixtures, fittings and furnishings, with loving care and attention paid to every last detail. Discover a gorgeous ‘snug' area to relax in, handily equipped with books and binoculars, while the well-equipped kitchenette takes care of all your culinary needs.
When you've had enough of chatting the evening away over a glass of wine (either snuggled up inside, or under the gleaming stars on the patio), you'll find a comfy kingsize bed ready and waiting for you. Strategically-positioned portholes mean you can enjoy those morning views without even having to get up!
Freshen up in the spacious shower room, then plan your day ahead over a steaming mug of coffee. You'll feel as though you've got the whole world completely to yourselves as you explore the surrounding area, with its rich, rolling natural scenery.
If you're in the mood to interact with civilisation, a mere half-hour drive will take you into the village of Lochaline. Here you can stock up on supplies, or explore the area even further with a ferry trip.
Hankering after some history? Then head to nearby Oban, where you can take a guided walking tour of some little-known landmarks, as well as paying a visit to St. Conan's Kirk, home to the remains of Robert the Bruce.
There are certainly plenty of options to help you while away your time. But nobody would judge you if all you do is let the dog (and yourselves!) run wild and free for a while, then retreat to your blissful AirShip for a secluded sunset supper.
Things to note
Check in from 2pm - 9pm, check out by 10am. Access is gained via stairs. The property is not suitable for young children, or those with reduced mobility.
