Nature's Nest Glamping
England / Ballingham, Herefordshire
Full description
A luxurious collection of family and dog-friendly canvas cottages with private hot tubs, beautifully nestled amongst rolling Herefordshire countryside with soothing views of the River Wye.
Set within a designated Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, Nature's Nest Glamping is exactly that: a cosy and luxurious hideaway amidst rolling, wildlife-steeped Herefordshire countryside.
Here you'll discover four welcoming canvas-wrapped cottages, each sleeping up to six guests and their three well-behaved dogs, and each boasting enchanting views of the shimmering River Wye beyond.
Plenty of care is taken to protect these magnificent natural surroundings, with the owners regularly planting wildflowers, hedgerows, and trees throughout the year. You'll also find your chosen cottage uses locally-produced renewable energy, with a mix of mains water, and borehole-water for the hot tubs.
Yet if you thought focusing on sustainability meant sacrificing comfort and luxury, it's time to think again! Spacious and sumptuous, there's solid flooring throughout each tent, and a sociable open-plan living space furnished with a large squishy sofa, and a toasty wood-burning stove.
Of course, you've also got the option of lazing on your decking, chilled glass of wine in hand, as you savour precious downtime with your loved ones.
Fully self-contained, there's a well-equipped kitchen to whip up country-style feasts, and a dining table to enjoy them around (though you might prefer your al fresco firepit-and-grill for sizzling sunset suppers instead).
You'll also have an electric shower room with thick, fluffy bath towels and luxury toiletries (though you might prefer soaking and stargazing in your private hot tub instead!)
When it's finally time for bed, you can choose from three cosy sleeping spaces, each separated for maximum privacy. There's a double, a twin, and a kingsize cabin bed accessed by a small ladder - and if you need an extra travel cot, just ask.
Bedroom chosen, all that's left to do is snuggle under your 13-tog feather-and-down duvet, and drift off into a sound night's sleep. The beds also have electric blankets, for maximum toastiness.
What you do when you wake up is entirely your choice! Lace up your walking boots and head down to the River Wye - just two minutes away - from which you can access several local footpaths, or tackle the nearby Malvern Hills.
You could also hire an e-bike from the site and explore the local villages on two wheels, or visit Symonds Yat for more challenging mountain-bike trails (the friendly family owners also recommend the Symonds Yat hedge-puzzle maze and butterfly zoo if you've got little ones in tow).
Go kayaking, canoeing, or stand-up paddle boarding on the river (you can hire paddle boards on the site), jump in the car and head for bustling Hereford, just 20 minutes away...
...or if all that sounds too much, simply hole yourselves up in the award-winning local pub, a mere 15-minute wander away!
Things to note
Glamping season runs from Easter to October half-term. Check in from 4pm, check out by 10am. Site-exclusive large group stays can be arranged on request. There is a small additional charge if bringing your dogs to stay.
