Full description

Reconnect with nature and enjoy breathtaking views in eco-friendly luxury, set against a stunning backdrop of the Brecon Beacons.

It's a familiar scene. You decide to go camping, only to find when you get to the site that you're late. You now have to put up your tent in the dark, which would be fine...if you hadn't forgotten to pack your tent in the car!

Wye Glamping resets the scene, with a comfy eco-friendly haven consisting of four completely self-contained (for perfect privacy levels) pre-erected, cosily furnished bell tents,  a cosy yurt and a luxury off-grid cabin, all sleeping from 4-6 people (the bell tents sleep up to 5), with private facilities and containing everything you need to sit back, pour a glass of your favourite tipple, and simply relax!

As its name suggests, Wye Glamping is close to Hay-on-Wye - known as ‘the town of books' - perfectly situated on the border of the Brecon Beacons National Park, meaning fantastic views of the Black Mountains, friendly wildlife, soothing sounds of birdsong and gentle babbling from the nearby stream are all assured.

Electricity-free, with gas fridges for food refrigeration and eco-friendly composting toilets, Wye Glamping is proud to offer a glamping experience that cares for the natural environment, as well as providing you with an idyllic opportunity to leave everyday life far behind while you reconnect with nature, in your own private space.

You'll find a stay at Wye Glamping is a far cry from sleeping on the thin, rain-dampened sheets that are such a traditional stalwart of camping life! Instead, snuggle up under a downy duvet, on a comfy mattress while a wood-burning stove warms your toes - bliss! There are plenty of rugs and cushions scattered around for a homely feeling of relaxation.

There's a separate - sheltered - kitchen area to prepare a hearty breakfast before you head out for the day, and later on why not treat yourselves to a warming barbecue, swapping holiday stories as you sip wine al-fresco? The luxury shower room is a welcome sight after a hard day exploring the area, for that ‘five-star hotel' feeling with all the freedom of a natural outdoor life built right in.  The shower room also houses a flushing toilet.

The yurt, measuring a generous 18 feet, sleeps up to 6 people and is beautifully secluded along the hedgerow, offering wonderful views and a perfect spot for stargazing! There's a king-size bed inside, with three single beds.

The four bell tents are all perfectly positioned along the river bank, sheltered by trees and offering truly amazing mountain views. Each tent measures 3 metres in height to 5 metres in diameter, and to ensure everyone has plenty of room, they each contain one double bed with two single beds (an extra cot is available on request).  Each bell tent comes with its own shower too.

The cabin is the latest addition and is the most luxurious of the accommodations, and is still yurt-inspired in its design, handcrafted by a local craftsman using reclaimed materials and is in a magical woodland setting. It has polished floorboards, a warming wood burning stove and also overlooks a private stream.  We canjust imagine sitting round the fire pit and listening to the relaxing sounds of nature. The yurt and cabin have sole use of the two luxury shower rooms just a short walk away.

One you're all settled in, you might want to tune your voice in readiness for campfire songs around the firepit, as you toast marshmallows under the stars.

You'll find plenty to do around the site - how about a long country walk to start off with, perhaps with some pony-trekking or canoeing thrown in along the way?

Brecon Beacons National Park (featuring the nearest mountain range to London!) is a treasure trove of adventurous activity, with zip-lining, caving and climbing all available to try. Water-lovers will enjoy the site's close proximity to the River Wye, with its renowned pebble-beaches. Why not try a spot of wild swimming to build up an appetite for a hearty barbecue back at the site later on?

There's a friendly village pub right on the doorstep if you could do with recharging your batteries after a hard day of exploring, and further afield, the market towns of Hay-on-Wye and Brecon are a short drive away, perfect for leisurely shopping trips in an enchanting array of vintage stores - with plenty of quirky café pit stops along the way!

There's no need for rain to stop play either, as you'll find a helpful selection of games, books and toys inside the tents and yurt, with an indoor swimming pool available at a nearby leisure centre.

The pretty stream that runs through the campsite is also perfectly safe for children to splash around in - so make sure you pack a good pair of wellies.

Why glamping, you might ask? Well, with everything you need thoughtfully provided for a naturally invigorating outdoor break, at Wye Glamping the answer is in the question!
