Live life upside-down in this quaintly traditional converted living space, just a few minutes away from the bustling heart of Newport, Pembrokeshire.

Have you ever wanted to turn life on its head, just to see what would happen?  Well, at the Chapel Vestry you can do just that!

Situated in Newport, Pembrokeshire is this charmingly converted chapel vestry, featuring upside-down living and sleeping up to six people in three bedrooms.  The building has retained its original history, warmth and character to offer an authentically quirky setting for a break that’s truly out of the ordinary.

You’ll find you certainly won’t tire of the view, both inside and outside of the Vestry. Exquisitely and comfortably furnished throughout, there are original, eye-catching pieces of artwork and quirky décor scattered around the entire living space, for you to discover and enjoy.

Take flight with the original slate steps that will lead you up to the Vestry’s delightful little entry porch (if you look carefully you’ll see some names carved into the slate wall, where the local children of times past waited not-so-patiently for Sunday school!).

Enter into the bright and roomy open-plan kitchen, dining and sitting room, complete with the original wooden beams and floorboards – not to mention the stunning views over the surrounding rooftops from the windows.  The kitchen area has all you’ll need to prepare a feast fit for the village elders, with a range of fitted units, gas hob, electric oven, microwave – and even a dishwasher.

If you enjoy talking long into the night over a hearty dinner, you’ll find the dining area comfortably perfect with its invitingly large pine table and eight chairs, ideal for guests.

Perhaps you’ll decide to move into the sitting area, with its warming woodburning stove (complete with complimentary basket of logs), invitingly squashy sofas and armchairs.  There’s a traditional desk, a card table and a lovely selection of books, games and local maps for those who like the more traditional touch, with a TV, radio and CD player for those looking for more modern styles of entertainment.

Head down the stairs to three bedrooms, each furnished for a cosy home-from-home feel.  You’ll feel like Goldilocks trying out all the beds, and with a double, twins and bunk beds to choose from you’ll soon be sure to find the one that’s “just right” – don’t forget to claim it first!

The family bathroom has it all too, whether you prefer a sumptuous bubble bath or a warming shower.  There’s also a separate cloakroom with a toilet and hand basin.

If you’re a lover of sandy beach rambles, you’ll love the Vestry’s outbuilding, with its separate shower, washing machine and hand basin…not to mention plenty of space for drying off both your rambling equipment and yourself.

Outside, to the rear of the building you’ll find a sun-trapped and invitingly deck, complete with furniture for you to really make the most of your days away.  .

The heart of Newport is just a short walk away, where you’ll find an eclectic range of local shops and galleries.  You won’t be spoilt for choice for places to eat out, with a tempting array of cafes, restaurants and traditional pubs nearby.

For those who want to take a breath or two of bracing sea air, also within walking distance is the picturesque Pembrokeshire Coastal Path, Newport Sands and Parrog Beach, a firm favourite with boating enthusiasts.  Why not stay a while longer and watch the sun set over the coastline?

Whether you’re a beach lover, an explorer, or if your idea of a holiday is simply relaxing indoors with a good book, for an original break in a place that well and truly has it all – come and stay at The Chapel Vestry!
