The Water Tower Devon
Take luxurious escapism to a whole new level, with an opulent stay at the architect-designed Water Tower, set on a Devon private estate that overlooks Lyme Bay, and the breathtaking World Heritage Jurassic coastline.
Sleeping up to ten guests in sublime comfort, you'll enjoy your very own lavish indoor swimming pool, steam room and games room. If you're a more outdoorsy type, you can explore your enchanting woodland surroundings, or even catch some sun on the estate's secluded sandy beach.
From the moment you drive through the imposing mason pillars that mark the entrance to the estate, you'll feel compelled to unwind. In fact, when you're in a setting this grand, it would be shameful not to!
Once inside the Water Tower, you can expect gleaming fixtures and fittings, high-end accessories, soft-toned décor, and large windows for you to admire that awe-inspiring, ever-changing natural landscape to your hearts' content (sunrise watching over a steaming mug of fresh coffee has never been so appealing).
On cooler evenings, simply switch on the underfloor heating and gather everyone together for a TV marathon, or set the perfect mood with the iPod dock and sound bar.
Meanwhile, you'll find the kitchen equipped with everything you'll need for an effortless culinary experience, including two ovens with deep warming drawers, two dishwashers, and a boiling water tap. You'll be greeted by a special welcome hamper, and if you'd prefer to enjoy a mouthwatering meal without having to do all the work yourself, private chef hire can even be arranged.
The five cosy bedrooms are all situated on the ground floor, all featuring woodland views, and superking zip and link beds that can be made into twins if you prefer. Three of the bedrooms are ensuite, with the other two sharing a Jack and Jill bathroom equipped with an indulgent free-standing bath.
Relax with a book and a few lazy laps in the pool room, or head out and immerse yourselves in the local area. If you're in the mood for a ramble, the South Coast Path runs close by, leading you into the harbour town Lyme Regis, an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty otherwise known as the "pearl of Dorset".
History lovers will adore searching for fossils on the dramatic Jurassic Coast...where some of the rocks are up to 200 million years old. Head for Beer for fishing, Seaton for watersports, or the estate's own Charton Bay for sandy luxury - there is quite literally a beach to suit every taste!
Head back to the Water Tower for a sizzling al fresco barbecue, as you plan the rest of your stay over a round of well-deserved sundowners. Cocooned in luxury and surrounded by your favourite people, could life get any better than this?

Tried and tested
"Outstanding property, beautiful setting. We had a fantastic time staying at this exceptional property. All fixtures and fittings were of the highest quality and the attention to detail very impressive. All 5 bedrooms were immaculately appointed so there were no arguments as to who had which room. The pool was used every day and the games room with the enormous TV was in almost constant use. Plenty of high quality cutlery and crockery and a very generous welcome hamper awaited as well as a warm welcome form our host Karina and her family. Lots to do in the area. We were lucky with the weather but this is a property which can be enjoyed in any weather."
"If you want a new a luxury pad on the Jurassic Coast then this is it! Where to begin? Set in a beautiful private estate, with fascinating local history, this architectural masterpiece is stunning, spacious and secluded - yet still close to all the activities on offer. Rousdon is perfectly situated, equidistant between Lyme Regis and Seaton, and high up on a cliff top where the microclimate offers haunting mists when the sun isn't shining. Those with hiking legs will delight at the trek down to the estate's private beach. The house comfortably handled our two large families for a long weekend and we left aching to stay on. The pool is amazing and the property also offers high end items like Sonos in all the main areas, great wifi, B&W subs, Siemens appliances throughout. It all feels just right - especially sitting in the countryside surrounded by fields with cows, overspecified levels of insulation, solar power and a bio-mass system powering all the interior tech. The owners know what they are doing and spared no expense here; they are also very thoughtful with nice touches like a proper meet & greet from Karina (who drove all the way from Bath at the beginning and the end of our stay) who stocked the fridge and provided a beautiful welcome hamper. This joins a short list of places that we look forward to returning to sooner than later."
