A cutting-edge floating haven, crafted by an award-winning architect, and peacefully moored in North Amsterdam's creative hub.

Bobbing proudly and peacefully in Amsterdam-Noord is the vibrant red Lightship Amsterdam, a historic ship offering luxurious accommodation for two.

Perfectly moored just minutes away from the iconic city centre, you can relax in a sumptuous on-board suite... that was designed by one of the country's leading architects.

The lightship itself was built in the early 1950s, completing many years of faithful service before being decommissioned decades later. The ship's resulting restoration has stayed beautifully true to its history, whilst adding a wealth of contemporary elements that are sure to leave you open-mouthed.

Step aboard via your own private entrance, and into your upper store suite - which was once the lightship's storage room.

The first thing you'll notice will be the breath-taking expanses of both space and light, surrounded by reflective glass, opulent furnishings, and indulgent touches that include a huge, gleaming bath in the corner of the room.

What else? There's a ridiculously comfortable kingsize bed to snuggle up in, along with a minibar, a pantry, and a dining table to sit at together, watching the world go by. You'll also have a spacious bathroom, equipped with a large shower, sink, and WC.

For the very best in local scenery, head outside to the front deck, which masquerades as a stunning terrace and viewing platform that showcases the industrial city and lighthouse to perfection.

(Add a glass or two of bubbles if you like - you are on holiday, after all!)

While there are no cooking facilities on board, this just provides you with the perfect excuse to get out and explore what for many, is the hippest part of Amsterdam!

Stroll or cycle past the creative waterside hangouts and cutting-edge architecture (including the marvellous EYE Film Institute and A'Dam Tower), as you stop off at yet another artist's studio, or marvel at an ingenious piece of street art.

Head to NDSM Wharf to view the latest goings-on - this an insanely popular location for festivals and cultural events, so there's sure to be something! - while the IJ Hallen, one of Europe's biggest flea markets, is a definite must-visit.

And if you insist on visiting the iconic Golden Age canals and coffee houses of Amsterdam's bustling city centre, simply hop on the free ferry to reach Central Station within minutes.
