Penrice Castle Towers
Penrice Castle Towers - history, myth and intrigue combine to create an extraordinary stay in one of Wales's true natural gems.
The Gower was the first ever designated Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty in the UK, so it goes without saying that the setting for this unique lodging is spectacular. Pristine beaches such as Oxwich Beach and unspoilt scenery await on the doorstep of this incredible Castle Estate.
We have chosen the The Towers of the Castle Estate, the most unusual accommodation at Penrice and also with the most interesting history! This lodge at the main gate of the castle was built with a very different purpose in mind back in the 1790s, as an extravagant folly that has the appearance of Castle ruins. Whilst there outside has all the gothic hallmarks you would expect including original windows and shutters, the inside is refreshingly modern, with limestone flooring throughout, contemporary fittings and bright, vibrant decor. The round double bedroom adds to the overall quirkiness of the experience.
Perfect as a short holiday break for 2, the property is not suitable for pets or young children but an ideal romantic retreat or 'minimoon' for those looking to explore this gorgeous area.
